Bill Maurer is a Vice President and Analyst in Gartner's IT Leaders in Midsize Enterprise group, where he covers IT outsourcing across the sourcing cycle addressing the needs of CIO, I&O and Application leaders working in the context of Midsize Enterprises.
Mr. Maurer's research contributes primarily to the following key initiative for 2019: Leading IT in Midsize Enterprises. He contextualizes Gartner research for the CIOs, I&O and Application Leaders in Midsize Enterprises helping them make better decisions, reduce risk and achieve business success.
He is a leading author on performance measurement, including business outcome measures, performance dashboards, outsource deal pricing, all phases of outsourcing contracts and the impact of new technologies such as virtualization, AI/IA and automation on outsourcing solutions.
Mr. Maurer provides guidance to clients for vendor evaluation and selection, contract deal pricing, contract structure, and negotiations. He covers the financial and manufacturing vertical industries for outsourcing.
Prior to joining Gartner, Mr. Maurer was Director of Life Cycle Solutions Southeast for GE Capital IT Solutions. He has also held several other IT senior management positions, including CIO, Vice President of services marketing, Vice President of solutions development and Director of applications support, as well as outsourcing business ownership.
