Sr Director Analyst

Mark Ray is a Sr. Director in Gartner Research, where he is part of the Infrastructure and Communication Services which is part of the wider group Sourcing, Procurement and Vendor Management. Mr. Ray currently conducts research associated with IT cloud and infrastructure sourcing. In this capacity, he ensures integrated, high-quality analyses across all outsource services, along with the continued development of new research to meet the needs of Gartner clients. His responsibilities include working with clients to resolve sourcing issues in cloud and infrastructure, developing research to drive improved performance, with a focus on cloud sourcing for implementation, modernization and migration services related to provider consulting services.

Mr. Ray has over 30 years of experience in various IT and business functions.

Previous experience

Prior to joining Gartner, Mr. Ray was employed by Electronic Data Systems (EDS). He held a variety of positions within EDS, including customer group executive, CFO-PT EDS Indonesia, global supplier relationship manager HP, and director of Alliances E.Solutions. These responsibilities have enabled him to oversee the profitability of a $100 million revenue base with more than 200 customers, negotiate single outsourcing deals with a total contract value of more than $80 million, and direct the relationship with a supplier that pulled more than $300 million annually through the organizations.
