Keith Harrison is Managing Vice President of the Energy and Utilities team.
Mr. Harrison has been engaged in wholesale and retail power and natural gas sectors for more than 25 years. Before joining Gartner in 2017, he focused on wind operations and maintenance performance, and the implication of sector digitalization with U.K.'s Offshore Renewable Energy Catapult. He was a joint author of the 2017 International Energy Agency (IEA) Report on Recommended Best Practices for Wind Farm Data Collection and Reliability Assessment for O&M Optimization (Wind Task 33). He also established two businesses, a renewable energy analytics consulting business (Harrison Energy Analytics Ltd.) and a global wind onshore benchmarking service (Wind Energy Benchmarking Services Ltd. [WEBS]).
Prior to focusing on renewable energy, Mr. Harrison spent several years as a Global Industry Analyst. Initially with Gartner Research, he focused on wholesale energy market technologies such as Energy Trading and Risk Management platforms, for which he published an annual Magic Quadrant. He was also the Director and Global Lead Analyst for Power and Utilities at EY where he worked on regulatory developments and risk management. Before becoming an Analyst, Mr. Harrison spent more than 15 years with ScottishPower initially in IT roles, then as a Project Manager/Program Director for transformative initiatives such as business and technical internet connectivity in the early mid/1990s and Energy Trading and Risk Management solutions in the late 1990s and early 2000s. Mr. Harrison's business project management capabilities then took him on to large-scale mergers, acquisitions and divestments in both the U.K. and the U.S.
