Daniel Barros is a Managing Vice President within Gartner's IT Sourcing, Procurement & Vendor Management research practice, where he leads a global team of analysts focused on infrastructure and communication services.
In his prior role, Mr. Barros was a Vice President Analyst involved in high-quality analyses across infrastructure services in the Infrastructure and Communication Services team, as well as identification and development of new research topics to meet requirements of Gartner clients. Mr. Barros's responsibilities include working with clients to resolve sourcing issues in infrastructure services, along with developing research to drive improved performance, operational efficiency, cost optimization and outsourcing vendor performance, and to support various Gartner initiatives and events in the area of sourcing, procurement and vendor management.
Before joining Gartner, Mr. Barros worked as a Senior IT Division Manager for a large Spanish telco in Brazil. In that role, he managed the major infrastructure services contracts. He also worked as the Project Manager for in-sourcing the carrier's largest infrastructure outsourcing contract. Prior to that role, he worked as a Delivery Executive for a large American IT company. He was responsible for the outsourcing contract delivery for several clients. He is also a certified project manager and has a strong technical background in IT infrastructure.
