“Magic Quadrant for Warehouse Management Systems” (G00263182) has been revised to clarify the inclusion criteria for vendors within the Magic Quadrant. It was recently brought to our attention that one or more of the vendors evaluated in the “Warehouse Management System Magic Quadrant” did not meet the minimum revenue threshold spelled out by analysts for inclusion in this Magic Quadrant. Analysts create inclusion criteria to identify the most relevant technology providers to be included in a Magic Quadrant. In this instance, analysts created inclusion criteria to identify companies that are having a growing impact on the market. One criterion was minimum revenue levels. Other inclusion criteria looked for demonstrable momentum in generating new customers, geographical breadth, participation in multiple customer industries, and proof of customers using the warehouse management system solution being evaluated.

A review of the research process found that one or more vendors reported revenue that did not meet the minimum revenue threshold. The analysts made an exception to the inclusion criteria, as they determined that some vendors demonstrated sufficient strength in the other criteria for them to be appropriately evaluated in the Magic Quadrant. This exception should have been noted when the research was published, and has been added now.

The inclusion criteria revenue exception had no impact on how the vendors were evaluated, and it had no impact on the analysts’ findings. A corrected version is available on gartner.com.

The forecast changes within this document reflect more substantial reductions in unit shipments and unit prices across EMEA and Latin America to account for the foreign exchange rate currency-related impacts.
