Gartner Announces the 2023 Gartner Marketing and Communications Award Winners

Gartner, Inc. has announced the winners of the 2023 Gartner Marketing and Communications Awards during the Gartner Marketing Symposium/Xpo in Denver this week. The awards recognize and reward the professional achievements of marketers and communicators around the world.

“The Gartner Marketing and Communications Awards celebrate initiatives that push the marketing and communications function forward,” said Alexandra Earl, VP, Advisory in the Gartner Marketing Practice and Chair of the Awards. “Our panel of judges, comprised of leading CMOs and CCOs, have selected 12 winners from a field of 400 submissions. The winners were notable for their use of data to inform decision making and their relentless drive for innovation.”

Alexandra Earl, VP, Advisory in the Gartner Marketing Practice and Chair of the Awards, presented the winners of the 2023 Gartner Marketing and Communications Awards.

The winners are:

Excellence in Brand Activation and Experience: PwC

PwC’s goal was to build a campaign that would tell a connected, unifying story of what PwC stands for, highlighting the value it offers its clients. The winning campaign showed how PwC brings together a passionate community of problem solvers in unexpected ways to drive sustained outcomes.

Excellence in Employee Experience: Kin + Carta
Like many organizations, Kin + Carta faced challenges hiring sought-after talent in 2022. Kin + Carta’s Marketing, EVP and Communications teams navigated these business challenges by creating brand experiences that garnered advocacy, trust and belonging.

Excellence in Reputation and Thought Leadership: FourKites
As the COVID-19 pandemic caused unprecedented disruptions to supply chains and changes in consumer preferences, FourKites used real-time data insights to inform trend stories about the impact of these disruptions, curating strong executive insights on industry trends, and putting a spotlight on customer impact stories.

Excellence in Social Impact: CEO Action for Diversity & Inclusion
PwC co-founded CEO Action for Diversity & Inclusion™ in 2017 to advance necessary dialogues on the role of the business community in advancing systemic change. Today, CEO Action continues to unite organizations to accelerate measurable and meaningful DEI progress in our workplaces and communities.

Innovation in Multichannel Customer Engagement: Unum
Unum’s challenge was to illustrate its tech-forward approach and relevance for a modern workforce in a sea of HR-tech startups. In 2022, Unum sponsored the HR Technology Conference for the first time in order to increase brand awareness with a new audience, create an interactive booth that pulled people in, and produce content to engage customers and prospects beyond the event.

Excellence in Change Communications: PwC
PwC embarked on a journey to deliver a seamless technology experience for their people and clients by transitioning enterprise technology tools. This multi-year program helped PwC’s people overcome change fatigue to drive adoption of new tools and encourage employees to work in different ways.

Small Idea, Big Impact: Workiva
Workiva aims to be the leading platform for regulatory, financial and ESG reporting. When the SEC proposed a climate-related disclosure rule, they saw an opportunity to turn their expertise into content that helps organizations prepare for new regulations. As a result, Workiva was able to strengthen its brand and identify potential new customers.

Excellence in Data, Insights and Analytics: Casey’s
In response to guests’ growing appetite for more convenient and personalized digital experiences, Casey’s shifted their digital strategy by delivering more relevant offers and promotions based on purchase history and giving guests more personalized rewards for their loyalty.

Excellence in Marketing and Sales Alignment: Luxoft, a DXC Technology Company
Working closely with a strategic client, Luxoft created a cross-functional go-to-market program that lasted 12 months, comprised of three omnichannel campaigns with 25 assets, a microsite, multiple LinkedIn tactics, direct sales outreach, thought leadership and billboards.

Innovation in Marketing and Communications Technology: Equinix
Equinix created a personification campaign around its IT AI-powered chatbot which resulted in a clear upward trend in platform adoption and resolutions. With immediate resolution of 80% issues brought to E-Bot, the initiative drove streamlined tech adoption among employees.

Innovation in Communications Measurement and Reporting: PwC
Faced with a multitude of tools and channels, PwC Communications team members found it difficult to access and utilize data points that showcase, impact and inform strategic decisions. To advance the team’s strategy, they built Intelligence Hub, a one-stop-shop collection of communications intelligence tools.

Leader of the Year: Noreen Sabrina Mohd Noor, EDOTCO Group
With the unwavering vision to become a global Top 5 Tower Company, EDOTCO Group’s goal was to strengthen its global brand positioning. The organization appointed Noreen Sabrina as the Group Head, Corporate Communications and Branding. Within just a year, Noreen successfully elevated EDOTCO Group’s reputation to become one of the region's most respected tower companies.
